  • Is One Big Plan being organized by BBBS or is an outside organization being utilized?
    BBBS is collaborating with AssuredPartners, a national partnership of leading independent insurance brokers specializing in employee benefits.
  • Who at AssuredPartners is working on One Big Plan?

  • I’d feel more comfortable talking to someone within BBBS, who can I go to?

  • Which employees are eligible to join One Big Plan?
    Employees working 30 hours or more a week are eligible for the One Big Plan benefits package.
  • Which agencies will be eligible to join One Big Plan?
    All agencies are eligible to join, there is no minimum number of employees required.
  • Is there a minimum number of agencies required to join?
    At this time, there is no minimum number of agencies. One Big Plan will move forward, how big is TBD.
  • What happens if I don’t join One Big Plan now?
    Agencies who do not join One Big Plan now will need to wait until the following Renewal and Open Enrollment cycle to be able to join.
  • When will the new benefits be effective?
    The One Big Plan benefits package will be effective January 1st, 2025.
  • Will there be a required waiting period for new employees to enroll with the One Big Plan benefits package?
    Currently, we are anticipating that individual agencies will determine the waiting period they would like to enforce, there will not be a national standard waiting period.
  • What lines of coverage will be offered?
    A full suite of plans will be offered, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, life, disability, accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness.
  • Do we have to offer all plans to all employees?
    All employees must be offered all plans, however individuals may select the plans they desire a la cart.
  • We already have benefits, can we still join One Big Plan?
    You would need to cancel your current benefits to join the One Big Plan benefits package, it cannot run side by side with another benefits package.
  • How do I cancel my current benefits package so I can join One Big Plan?
    A term letter will need to be submitted to your current carriers. AssuredPartners will draft and share these letters with individual agencies.
  • It’s the middle of our plan year, can we cancel our benefits and join One Big Plan?
    You can cancel your current benefits at any time. Your current coverage should remain in place through December 31st, 2024, to ensure there is no lapse in coverage.
  • What is the potential rate change between what is presented before Open Enrollment vs after Open Enrollment?
    The greater the difference between the anticipated enrollment numbers vs the actual enrollment numbers will dictate if and how the rates will change. While ideally there will be no change, the potential could be a 10% to 20% rate change.
  • Do individual agencies have to pay a portion of employee’s premiums?
    Yes, National standards are to pay 50% of employee only premiums, but individual agencies can determine their own contribution strategies.
  • How will census data be collected?
    A census template will be available on the One Big Plan microsite. Individual agencies will need to complete this census, and then return it to AssuredPartners via the secure channels on the microsite.
  • When will Open Enrollment be?
    Currently, Open Enrollment is anticipated to occur in October.
  • How will Open Enrollment meetings be held?
    Final plans have not been made, however AssuredPartners has in person and remote education options that will be available to all team members.
